Lindos is situated on the south east coast, about 54km from Rhodes Town. It was one of Rhodes' ancient and most important cities, growing to prosperity under the Knights of St John. Lindos has now been declared a national landmark, with many of its medieval buildings still intact.
Lindos is now one of the most popular travel locations in Greece because of its relaxed atmosphere, friendly locals and the pristine condition of the town and beaches. Lindos offers some of the most spectacular diving in Greece. The various sites include walls which just keep going down, immense caverns and drift diving. The depth and drift here bring in the larger Mediterranean occupants, tuna and even seals can be spotted here. The caverns appear to be lit by tiny lights, which on approaching you find are the eyes of hundreds of shrimp. Dive sites are reached by rib, limiting numbers. Once dived, Lindos will rank highly in any diver's top ten dives.
